Adjusters International's team of disaster recovery consultants has been on the scene of the Midwest floods since shortly after the Mississippi River overflowed its banks. We are currently working in the State of Iowa, assisting the City of Cedar Rapids, Linn County and the Cedar Rapids Community School District with their FEMA recovery process.

New Orleans Turns to AI for
Katrina Claims Assistance, Once Again

The City of New Orleans has again retained Greenspan Co./Adjusters International to handle their property damage insurance claims for the balance of their properties damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Included in this work will be the adjustment of all of the city's libraries and their art museum. New Orleans retained the services of Adjusters International as soon as funding for this process was appropriated.

AI Helps City of Batesville with FEMA Recovery
from March floods

March 2008 floods in Independence County, Arkansas, caused the water in the Pope Bayou to rise beyond its holding capacity and pour into the City of Batesville. The resulting disaster declaration included 35 Arkansas counties, including Batesville. City officials turned to Adjusters International for assistance in formulating and moving forward with the City's FEMA recovery strategy. At the May 27 City Council meeting, Public Works Engineer Damon Johnson reported that city department heads had been working well with the AI team, led by AI Deputy Director of disaster recovery consulting Robert Farnum.

AI Deputy Director Speaks at Chatham County Hurricane Conference

Jim Siciliano, Deputy Director of disaster recovery consulting for Adjusters International, spoke at the 8th Annual Chatham County Hurricane Conference. Conference planners requested this seminar to help FEMA-eligible applicants in the County prepare for the administrative challenges involved in managing their responsibilities under the FEMA Public Assistance program, after a declared disaster. Chatham County, Georgia, recently entered into an emergency standby agreement for FEMA and insurance recovery services with Adjusters International after issuing a competitive bid solicitation.

AI to Assist Maui County with FEMA Appeal

After receiving a denial from FEMA for costs associated with emergency protective measures Maui County took in response to rock slides resulting from the October 2006 earthquake, the County sought guidance from Adjusters International. Adjusters International had been called in during 2007 to assist the County in assessing its situation and challenges, so County officials were familiar with the company's expertise. AI's Vice President John Marini, Deputy Director Peter Potemkin and Senior Consultant Jeff Shaw are working with the County to coordinate and document its appeal to FEMA.
